A no-brainer collaboration, Beck’s lyrics and vocal treatments alternately spar and coast with Tobacco’s well-known arsenal of vintage synthesizers, noise boxes and voice modulators. The track “Fresh Hex” features Beck’s alliterative, free-associative rap, chopped to bits over Tobacco’s baroque key sequences and whirring effects. Yes, these two working together is as good as it sounds.”
