MS update

So last St Patrick's day my wife gave birth to our lovely new baby Sophia Rose Gorman which was the best day of my life. But the bastard thing is that all the excitement and commotion has taken it's toll on me physically. Having being diagnosed 4 years ago with Multiple sclerosis I havnt had a major attack sincs then, it makes me sick to be even writing this about myself when I should be writing about my lovely baby.

 I guess I just want people to know about the disease and what a bitch it can be. I mean my family and I must pay the price for having a baby and getting excited, it just doesn't seem fair. 

 Here are some cuntish things that are happening to me......

Right side of face is numb

Right side teeth and throat are numb

My right arm and legs are crazy 

My left hand makes me look like I am about 80 years old.

I had to buy a cane the other day because I am so wobbly and people think I am drunk.

I have been getting high doses of steroids pumped into me on a drip for the past 3 days and i have 2 days left, 

Steroids help me to go back into remission but it's far from cool. Sleepless nights, head is crazy, I've been up since 3 this morning. 

Need I continue with the onslaught of shite.

 My point is there is no cure for this shit yet,  I just don't think it's fair for me and my family to have to deal with this right now  when I should just be enjoying my lovely new baby.

 I am thankful for being a thick Paddy at this time because I will not let this beat me.

I may be down for a little bit but I am far from knocked out.I am just lying in wait to grab life by the bollox again.

Show me the airgead

For a couple of weeks before the walk I was annoying people looking for sponsorship money and I managed to get the guts of one thousand dollars which is a little shitty but it's better than a face full of feces I guess.

MS Walk 2010

Yesterday was the MS Walk 2010 which is basically a six mile walk to raise awareness about the disease and to raise money to go towards research to find a cure and to help people suffering from the disease.
I'd say there was probably five thousand people at least that did the walk. You choose either a six or a three mile walk, we choose the six mile walk which brought us across the Brooklyn Bridge and back.

Walk MS / Jeremys Ale House

Walk MS New York City - Southern NY takes place in seven exciting locations. Each location features a festival type atmosphere including a fun zone for the kids, food and entertainment.

Start and Finish Location: South Street Seaport
Check-in: 8 a.m.
Walk begins: 9:30 a.m.
Route: 3 Miles (fully accessible) or 6 Miles

When the walk is finished I am having a shindig at http://www.jeremysalehouse.com/ which is located at  228 Front Street. New York , Jeremys is about a two minute walk from Pier 17 and I hope to have music by Anna Troy and free grub. Jeremys is a dive bar with plenty of cheap beer to quench the thirst after the walk.

MS for two years

Having been diagnosed with MS two tears ago I have had to inject myself with Copaxone everyday. It is a pain in the hole literally as i have to inject my arsh every so often (inject with what? ) I can hear the jokes rolling. Its not that bad really. Injections go in the legs, arms, stomach, arsh which is a small thing if you consider not taking it and maybe as a result not being able to walk.....I'll take the injections thank you.
In the pictures is roughly all my needles for the past year and a halfish.

National MS week 2010

March 8Th - 14Th is National MS week. Having MS myself it is important for me to do something for the cause. On SUNDAY, APRIL 18, 2010 I will be participating In WalkMS which will be in South Street Sea Port Manhattan Co.Louth. Today I am going to start working on a new t-shirt design for my walk team. I will be selling the t-shirts and donating all profits to the MS society, also I will be gathering up sponsorship money for doing the WalkMS. So people get your fingers out and send me some money. ALL MONEY will be donated to people with worse symptoms than me, at least I can still type not like some people. Just imagine that you couldn't do Facebook or wipe your arsh. SEND ME MONEY.

Me And Alec McLean

Alec McLean is the chairman of MS Ireland Louth Branch. He was good enough to attend "The Fattening Of The Pig" and he attempted to make a speech but there was that much craic going on I don't think many people heard him speak. Alec's wife Mary has MS too and I got to meet her when they drove to my house to have some pictures taken.
It was great to meet them and I hope to stay in touch.

MS Update

Today I am Having an MRI scan to see if the MS has progressed any more. I will be injected with a blue dye that will go threw my body. Then I will go into the machine, the blue dye basically will show up white blobs which are tares in my brain and spinal chord caused by the MS. The neurologist then will look at last years results and be able to tell if there has been any progression. Hopefully it will be good.

Telekinesis Performs in an alley at south by southwest

Telekinesis are my favorite band of the week. They made a big blast at SXSW and I bet you will here of them in the future. The video is a cool stripped down tune which I think is really cool and when they make it big the clip will be sought after. Wait for them !!!

The Fattening Of The Pig

"The Fattening Of The Pig" is the music gig I am putting together at The Bailey in Ardee Co.Louth on the 12th of June. It's looking like all the pieces are falling into place. So far the bands are..... Just Friends - Cunning Stunts - The Enemies and Callaghans butchers have donated a pig to roast on the spit. It should be great.
Tickets are $10 or pay at the door. All proceeds go to Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.

Me Skull

Tomorrow I have to go for a CT (cat scan). I was thinking about it today and it brought me back to last year when I had my first MRI scan. When the doctors came back with the results of my brain they where alarmed. You see there was such a large quantity of shite along with the MS. Above are the actual scans of my brain. The white blobs are actually MS. If there is that much shite in my brain imagine how much will be in my stomach.

Walk MS

The Walk Ms was actually great. I thought I was going to be very upset but it turns out it was a good feel day. Thankfully I had (Bridie beag) the wife with me and all my friends, Mick, Caso, Siobhan, Damo, Michael, Kita, Michael and it was a grand walk. We did the six miles and at the half way point we stopped for bananas and a slash and we where good to go. When we got to the finish there was a big spread of burgers, hot dogs, Starbucks coffee, steamed or raw mussels, potato knishes, cake, lolly pops, Candy floss, you name it. Then after the drive we headed to Rory Dolans and had some more food and some pints. All in all a great day was had by all.

Deadly people in Yonkers New York

On my quest to find a cure for MS i hit the local bars in Yonkers to see could I get some donations for the six mile Walk MS which is taking place this Sunday. Danny Macs bar which has been my local for many years had a darts night and raised several hundred dollars for MS and I then went to Rory Dolans.
Rory gave a generous donation along with several of the staff that work there.
Also the New York Yankees had the first game of the season and the first game in there new stadium today. Unfortunately they lost against the Cleavland Indians just like the movie Major League. A load of Yankee fans came into the bar after the game and they gave a nice donation also.
Thank you all very much for the donations for it is gratefully appreciated and it just goes to show when times are shite some people are just nice !

MS Update

So this week i have had the following shite symptoms...

Sore neck
Sore lower back
Sore pain in the fore head
Sore eyes
My knee is giving out a little when i walk
My right hand is numb as usual
And extreme tiredness

I went to the doctor today and he said i have to go back to the neurologist again to see what's wrong. He is concerned about my vision as loss of sight can occur with MS. I had blood taken from both arms too. I also have to have a CT scan of my stomach/pelvis/balls area which should be a laugh exposing the beast to complete strangers and probably a few male doctors. The last time when i had the surgery some female nurse had to give the short back and sides below which i couldn't.t help but wonder what she thinks about while scalping the cowboy.
A well if ya cant have a laugh your feccked. Plow on and remember if life hands you shite make silage. L O feckin L. I am tired and me and Molly are going to Washington tomorrow until Sunday night so probably no posts til then.

Reasons MS Is A Balls

Unfortunately today i am unable to muster up the brain power to make up anything funny. This morning i woke up and felt like staying in bed and not going to work.
I went in anyway thick Paddy style and it made me realise that i am in no way out of trouble as far as Multiple Sclerosis is concerned.
I was fine til about ten a.m when i started relentlesly yawning with exhaustion to the point were i couldnt manage to work at all. I made it til lunch time when i sat down and nearly fell asleep on the floor. Thick Paddy got up again and went back to work and had to stop and sit down on the floor behind the couch. My head started to thump and my eyes very sore. My shoulder and neck are killing me and my right hand feels, well it doesnt feel much, kinda like really strong pins and needles which isnt to pleasent all day. I am home now on a lovely sunny day in pyjammas at four in the afternoon and i will probably sleep til morning. What a load of shite. It also feels extremely diffecult to focus on anything. Hopefully this is not the start of another attack. Just an update on MS and what a fucking pain in the hole it is !
I feel people should know what happens because i didnt. I hope tomorrow i will be back in form with some more storys about pure shite
